African Leadership Academy (ALA)

African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks to transform Africa by developing and supporting future generations of principled and ethical African leaders. Opening in September 2008, ALA brings together the most promising 16-19 year old leaders from all 54 African nations for an innovative 2-year program (ie grades 11 & 12) designed to prepare them for a lifetime of leadership on the continent. Students are selected based on merit alone and will complete a challenging curriculum with a unique focus on leadership, entrepreneurship and African studies. ALA graduates will attend the world's finest universities and in time, are expected to lead Africa toward a peaceful and prosperous future.

The inaugural class of 125 outstanding young leaders represents a remarkable cultural, religious, socio-economic and gender diversity. With the assembling of a truly world-class and international faculty, ALA has begun a new opportunity for the continent.
