CEDAR Foundation commits to cover the costs of construction of a fully-equipped Secondary School that will open in January 2010 and that in time, will provide high-quality independent enriched education to a full capacity of 600 scholars of Masimbane College who reside in Orange Farm Township.

Masibambane College

Masibambane College was originally built at the request of the late Walter Sisulu, one of South Africa's greatest sons and for many years, a mentor of Nelson Mandela.

Over time, with financial help from the City of Vienna, Austria, a independent, high-achievement primary K-7 school was built along with a feeding programme for the most vulnerable in the community, making the facility an important source of learning and support for all of Orange Farm Township.

Masibambane College has become a beacon of hope for this impoverished township and will, with CEDAR Foundation's addition of a Secondary School, continue in its quest to improve the education - and thus the living standards - of the large community it serves.
