POSSE Foundation

Beginning in 2006, CEDAR Foundation has participated in the amazing efforts and success of the POSSE Foundation. This progressive organization identifies and trains student leaders from public high schools to form multicultural teams called "Posses". Then through an intensive eight-month pre-collegiate training programme, the teams are prepared for enrolment at top-tier universities across the USA to pursue their academics and promote cross-cultural communication on campus. Since 1990, the POSSE programme has exhibited great success, placing over 2,200 students in colleges/universities. These students have won over US $220 million in scholarships from POSSE partner universities and are persisting with their academics and graduating with a 90% success rate - a higher rate than the national average at institutions of higher education.
